The group has 36 members and is open to all over the age of 18 If you would like to join us please just come along there’s no audition, no pressure. There is a cost of £2 per week (not on your first week) and we ask members to consider joining the Recreation Club (£6 per year) but this is your choice. The weekly subscription goes towards the cost of equipment and paying for music copyright.
We started in January 2022 with a simple keyboard with small speakers. Due to the contributions we have been able to purchase a full-size electric piano, a large speaker big enough to use outside should the need arise as well as scarves and ties with our logo on so we look smart should we perform anywhere. Whilst public performing is not a main aim for the singing group we are open to requests such as village fetes, care homes, etc.
The singing group performed in Leconfield during the Queens Platinum celebrations and received some very positive comments from those who were entertained.
On Sunday 18th December 2022 we shall be supporting St Catherines Church in Leconfield with their annual Christmas Carol service.
The Recreation Club will be hosting an evening of Christmas Songs on Tuesday 20th December 2022 where we will be singing Christmas Carols from our own repertoire as well as providing songs for everyone to join in with.
The start time is 7pm until 8.30pm followed by drinks and a social chit-chat afterward if you wish
