🚶‍♀️ Have Your Say: Miles Lane Pedestrian Entrance Survey

Would you like me to format the full post with that title right at the top so it’s ready to paste straight into Facebook?

We need your input for an improvement project that could make a real difference in our daily lives.

🆘 What’s Happening?
Leconfield Parish Council is exploring a grant opportunity to upgrade the white pedestrian entrance on Miles Lane—the one many of us use to access the Playpark, Village Hall, Recreation Club, Sensory Garden, and QPJ walk.

** The proposed enhancements include:**

  • Extending the entrance to a safer stretch of road
  • Trimming hedges for better visibility of oncoming traffic
  • Widening the path so pushchairs and wheelchairs can pass comfortably side by side
  • Working with East Riding of Yorkshire Council (ERYC) on possible traffic calming measures

Why Your Voice Matters
We’re gathering community feedback on how people currently use the entrance, any access challenges—especially if you’re using a pushchair, wheelchair, or parking badge—and what would encourage you to use the pedestrian entrance more often.

How You Can Help
Please take a moment to fill out this quick survey:
👉 Complete the Leconfield Village Hall Pedestrian Entrance Questionnaire

🗓 Deadline: Friday 29th
Make sure your views are included before the survey closes!

Thank you to everyone who takes part—your feedback truly matters.
Let’s make our community more accessible for all. Please share this post or tag neighbours and friends who use the pedestrian entrance.

  1. Hello Stuart   Thanks for taking this matter forward.   I’ve been concerned about safety issues here for some time.  Even though the traffic calming measures on Miles Lane are (mostly) effective, it still feels dangerous as the sight lines in both directions are not good.  And if your hearing isn’t good you may not hear a vehicle aproaching.  I addition the space around the entrance is cramped.   It would be great if some work was done to improve things   Thank you for all the work you and your colleagues do on our behalf.   in peace   Brian

  2. l would fence off the play park entrance and make the vehicle access the single point of access to the site. Then wider with a foot path either side to increase vision and make that access safer, there is room for a wider foot path. It is only a short walk from the park entrance and would be a safer place to cross the road.

    1. Thank you for your suggestion .The area was looked at when ERYC came to site to discuss the pedestrian entrance

Unfortunately as this is the vehicle ,car park & delivery entrance we are unable to form a pedestrian pathway . . There also needs to be a secondary exit from the recreation ground.

ERYC are the landlords of the Village Hall & Playing Fields and as such the Parish Council has to be guided by them and all works are subject to their approval .
