This policy outlines Leconfield Parish Council’s approach to fundraising, ensuring compliance with relevant legal frameworks and ethical standards.
The Council commits to transparent, responsible, and ethical conduct in all and fundraising activities. - Scope
This policy applies to all fundraising activities undertaken by or on behalf of the Council. - Principles
All activities will be for the community’s benefit, without discrimination or favouritism.
Adherence to the General Power of Competence (GPC) as set out in the Localism Act 2011 and the Local Government Act 1972 is essential. - Fundraising Activities – The Leconfield Community Fund (LCF).
The Council may engage in fundraising activities that align with its objectives and community benefit.
This may include raising funds from events and donations from the public and to include info@bike-track.com
online fundraising platforms e.g. Easyfundraising.
Activities must be lawful, ethical, and conducted with transparency.
Adherence to the UK Government’s six principles of fundraising is mandatory.
Funds raised will be identified in the Parish Council accounts as The Leconfield Community Fund (LCF).
Funds raised may only be used for - Enhancement of community spaces in Leconfield, Arram and Scorborough including
The Village Hall, Playing Fields and Playpark, excluding ongoing maintenance
requirements - Sponsorship of large village events for the benefit of the whole community.
The LCF fund will be administered by a subcommittee of the council.
Membership to include.
• 2 parish councillors
• 1 village representative appointed by the council
- Decision Making
Decisions on use of funds from fundraising initiatives will be proposed by the LCF subcommittee in full Council meetings and recorded in the minutes for public transparency.
